Description
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived by adding a Pro-Gly-Pro stabilizing tail to the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin (residues 11–14 of the IgG Fc fragment). The C-terminal modification dramatically extends biological half-life relative to native tuftsin.
Research has investigated Selank for its anxiolytic effects without sedation, modulation of GABAergic signaling, and influence on enkephalin and serotonin pathways. It has been studied in models of anxiety, stress response, and cognitive function.
