Description
Epitalon (also Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on a peptide originally isolated from the bovine pineal gland. It is one of the most extensively studied short peptides in the longevity research category, with particular focus on its effects on telomerase activity and telomere maintenance.
Research has demonstrated Epitalon’s capacity to upregulate telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) expression in human somatic cells, with downstream studies examining cellular senescence, circadian regulation via melatonin pathways, and age-related physiological decline.
